    Backpacking Light is seeking peer reviewers from our user community to review submitted articles and product reviews prior to publication for accuracy, content, the quality of objectivity/subjectivity, their relevance in the context of current best practices for lightweight backpacking, and their context within the larger body of published literature about wilderness travel.

    Peer Reviewers will be sent article manuscripts and expected to review them within 72 hours. Peer Reviewers will return written comments to one of BPL's Managing Editors, who will consolidate those comments with those of other peer reviewers of the manuscript and return all comments (which will remain anonymous) to the author for article revisions.

    Peer Reviewers will be identified as members of the Backpacking Light Magazine Editorial Board and will be listed on its masthead online and in the print magazine. Peer reviewers will be awarded honorariums in the form of gift certificates to the BackpackingLight.com Gear Shop for their contributions.

    If you would like to participate in peer review, you must:

    • Be an active BackpackingLight.com Premium Member;
    • Regularly read published content at BackpackingLight.com and/or Backpacking Light Magazine (print version);
    • Maintain interest in lightweight backpacking trends and information;
    • Have an awareness of information published by others on the topic of wilderness backpacking.

    To express your interest, please submit a query to: [email protected].
