Double post sorry. I don’t know how to delete my posts yet.
Jun 23, 2005 at 9:14 pm #1338427Jacob,
Unless I am mistaken, the new, upgraded BPL Forum no longer has the ability to allow user’s to delete their posts.
Unfortunately, I can’t help but think that I might have been, at least in part, the inspiration for this new “feature”. Since, I have caused, on more than one occasion, some damage to a Thread’s continuity by doing some not so artful deletions.
Even b/f the apparent (am I mistaken here?) elimination of the “Delete” functionality from the “Edit/Print” list, I had been duly “spanked”, and rightly so I might add, by a two or three of the regular poster’s to these forums whose opinion’s I happen to value – and still do value.
Here’s what appears to be the only option left in the event of “dbl-posting” – simply delete the contents of your post, leaving a small statement to that effect since empty posts are not allowed even if it’s an accidental dbl-post [hmmm…..wonder how I discovered that little tidbit??? ;) ]
Another alternative is to email the BPL staff to delete the dbl-post or empty Thread. Benjamin Tang first started doing this, if I recall correctly, and he led me to do the same a couple of months back.
My question is, since I replied to you in this Thread…
is this Thread still considered an “Empty Thread”???
Jun 24, 2005 at 6:14 am #1338436Paul,
Yes, this is an empty thread. As such, it contains no posts, no meaningful exchange of ideas, values or customs cherished by those living in a free and just democracy such as ours…I’m sorry. I just found out that Team MLD doesn’t exist and I’ve fallen into a depression so deep that I’ve taken to talking to empty threads…I have to go now. Nurse Ratchet is looking for me.
Jun 24, 2005 at 7:14 am #1338441If Jacob also agrees, go ahead & trash the thread .
Jun 24, 2005 at 7:18 am #1338442Yeah get rid of it. My “double click” happy finger is the cause of this thing in the first place. sigh…
Jun 24, 2005 at 6:40 pm #1338453I saw Nurse Ratchet on the PCT in central Oregen last Summer. Still chasing the Cheif…
