This is the best combination of light weight and low price in a SIRF GPS I have ever seen.
'SIRF' refers to a very sensitive GPS chipset which Garmin is using in its high-end GPSs. All reports are it allows better accuracy in normal use, and a position fix where older chipsets can't get a fix..
I have been waiting for months for the price to come down on these.. Bought one new off ebay for about $129 today, and while searching, found this batch of 10 for $85 each. He probably 'acquired' a case of them from the factory which makes them in China, and ships from there? Best not to ask for details?

If you can afford a little more, they are available from a 'legitimate' dealer for about $150

Yo, Brett: Thanks for your info. I've been waiting years to buy a GPS unit and prefer Garmin. Wudda snapped this up, but when I followed your carefully-posted info to the site, not surprisingly there was a big blank, probably because they all got sold. Other link's price showed as $151.95, and that supposedly a sale price.

The problem with the 205 is it uses a rechargeable Lithium battery. I think many of us would need a GPS that uses batteries that can be replaced in the field so the GPS can be used more than 12 hours, like AAA batteries.

Brett, is the Lithium Battery built-in or can you get more than one for backup? I couldn't find an answer on the internet.

Good question. I hope Brett will let us know when his arrives and he checks it out. I am generally a fan of Li battery technology but of course can't handle non-field-replaceable batteries, and if that's the case here would think it a serious engineering flaw.
