Tenkara on the Allegheny Trail in July?

I am planning a thru hike on the Allegheny Trail (WV) in July of 2013 and am curious whether there was sufficient opportunities for fishing along the way to justify buying a non-resident license and carrying a tenkara rod.

I am new to tenkara fishing, but combining it with backpacking sounds intriguing and I wonder if this trip might be a good time to try it.
