Not a lot of information online about it. Going to Mexico for two weeks after Christmas and definitely going to attempt to summit Orizaba – preferably in a way more interesting and less crowded than the standard 4×4 to piedre grande hut and jamapa glacier.
Any other comments on Orizaba or other advice on worthwhile mountains/backpacking/climbing in Mexico would be appreciated as well.
dang, wish I'd seen this earlier! I did a variation from the standard route years ago, and we incorporated much more of the ridge, and lots of mixed terrain… anyway, hope your time was sucessful
