I'm intrigued by this trail, opened this July. It claims to start from Lahemaa National Park in Northern Estonia and traverse six counties, two national parks, nine conservation areas, and three state forest recreational areas.
I'm going a little stir crazy out here, actually. Since moving I have't been able to hit the trail, and now that I finally can I'm struggling with where exactly to go. I'm going to hit Latvia's Gauja National Park this weekend and blaze my own route.
It's new territory out here . . . and one of the most exceedingly flat places in the world.
I've certainly been on more exciting hikes, but it was great to explore Latvia's Gauja National Park this weekend. Flatter than a pancake but with some great river views and sandstone cliffs.
