Help with last minute Bday Beach Camping location

I come to you for help oh wise ones. My niece wishes for a beach camp birthday bash. A beach campsite for this fall with no reservations ahead of time. A tall order in deed, but if anyone knows it is you, oh BPL sages and sage-etts. We are in Socal so any ideas from like Cambria down to San Diego would be very helpful. I think i recall some first come first serve stuff but I cant remember where.

I've done this at Gaviota, but it looks like they now take reservations for for 37 of the 39 sites :(
