If you like sewing your own gear then this has to be the best project you can ever do. The Kinsman is a windproof jacket with 1/2 inch of Primaloft insulation. It is more windproof than Gore 'Windstopper' fleece. Warmer than 200 weight fleece and half the weight. I never carry fleece anymore. My Kinsman is 300gm (10oz, size Lge). I combine this with a Minima Vest (170gm), which also has 1/2 inch of primaloft for when the temprature really drops.

The kit is easy to follow, with excellent instructions and photos. It does require a bit of skill to sew. Paul from Thru-Hiker provides great on line support for putting the kits together as well as lots of other useful tips.
