At 1.7 oz these are some really light Gore-Tex gaiters. They interface (they are shoe specific) with my TNF Ultra 103 GTX trail shoes fairly well with 4 plastic clips that hook to 3 built in bungees and the shoelaces. They have no velcro or zipper so you must put your foot through the gaiter, tie your shoes and then hook the lace hook. Tighten the ankle bungee and off you go. They kept out scree and snow very well. When the temps hit in the mid 50's you could feel some heat buildup. The hooks are cumbersome to use and it's awkward to get your shoe on and you need to remove your shoe to take the gaiter off. Worst though is the fact that after 10 hrs. of use the stiching came apart.
