I am looking to section hike part of the CDT in Colorado in late July. We will likely have about 7-10 days and will need to fly into Denver. For logistics and above tree-line views, we am starting to focus on the section from Spring Creek Pass to Wolf Creek Pass.

Our planning is in the very early stages. I haven't even calculated the distance from Spring Creek Pass to Wolf Creek Pass.

One appealing aspect of this section is that it curves around Creede, which lends itself to us using either Creede and/or South Fork as a base from which to hire a shuttle for both drop off and pick up, with both of these towns being a relatively easy drive from Denver.

Does anyone have any experience, tidbits, pointers, etc. for planning a trip on this section of the CDT that they would like to share.

If it helps, history has shown that I need two days to acclimatize before hiking hard at these altitudes, 10,000ft to 13,000ft, and we can typically hike about 15-20 miles a day.
