There's a small chance I'll be in Estas Park January 6-8 but I have not budget for an expensive trip and I won't have a car. Any great ideas for a winter trip in non-technical terrain?
A look at the Colorado Atlas shows a trail called the "North Boundary Trail" that goes north from Estas Park along the edge of the Comanche Peaks Wilderness. Looks like it stay low down in the trees. Anybody familiar with this area? I have snowshoes and 0 degree bag I'm borrowing but I'd prefer to stay relatively low and away from avalanche areas since I'll be solo.
