    @awsorensen

    Locale: South of Forester Pass

    I have a few issues with this bag that will never get addressed because the new ones have been changed completely.

    First the good. I found it on sale for $230.

    The long is only 3 oz more than the reg but it is obviously taken out from the amount of down in the top to make up for weight. If you hold the bag up to light you can see some real thin spots even after the bag has been out for 24 hours.

    The other problem is it looks like the bag was designed on a computer then taken straight into production without making one to see if it actually would work as well as it should.
    The result is a bunch of excess fabric.

    This is a problem to me because you will never be able to get a 3rd or 4th generation bag that had each generation corrected from real world experience. Western Mountaineering does this, which is why you get such a good bag from them.

    Hopefully the new generation one is made better and the the excess down from the different hood is put back into the bag. I will have to admit tht this bag is warm and light, but haven't compaired it to other bags with similar temp ratings.

    I would rate this at a 3 1/2 but can't. so 3 it is.
    I am also betting that a Regular size would be worth 4 1/2 if the issue of the loft in the torrso area was better.
