I believe this is the way of the future for electronics. At approximately 3 ounces, this little powerhouse, one of a series of different voltage / current combos, provides a nominal 7.2 Volts (typically 9 – 10 V) at 200mA, allows you to charge most 12V components, and to directly power some of them.
It’s very flexible, so that you can bend it, or pack it in less than a perfectly flat or consistent area.
I was able to charge cell phone batteries and camera batteries by connecting the output of the charger to their nominal 12V chargers.
Additionally, I used this to run a small 12V 150 mA fan (similar to what PC’s have in them) for the purpose of keeping air circulating in the tent to help with condensation.

The form factor is approximately 10″ x 6″ x 1/32″ thick, and it’s very flexible. The price is approximately $40 (www.jameco.com), and well worth it if you need to be able to charge electronic components.
