Nov 14, 2006 at 5:37 pm #1367179me too! arghh. I wish I could get a cellphone text message every time SAC sold something containing the word “smartwool” (Ryan and his innumerable legion of BPL programmers, are you listening?)

That would be so incredibly useful…
Nov 15, 2006 at 12:23 am #1367206..everyone tired of these reminders yet? but I got an XS for a female hiker friend. Seem to be a run on icebreaker today so I’ll wait for the mens. I found the best way to keep up with this is the RSS feed to my “My Yahoo” page. Initiated from the SAC page.
Nov 20, 2006 at 1:05 pm #1367758I think you can do this with AOL Alerts (requires free AOL/AIM screen name). You can get alerts for RSS feeds filtered by keyword.
Click on Feeds under Category, then look for “Add your own feeds” in the lower right corner. Enter the SAC feed URL. The next page will allow you to enter keywords and say how you want the alert delivered (AIM, email, or mobile device).
Nov 20, 2006 at 5:21 pm #1367791William, thank you very much. To get the URL for the feed I floated my cursor over the AOL RSS icon and entered that address. After I confirm that’s correct, I’ll set my keyword to “wool”. Great tip; the money I save with this just paid for my BPL subscription. (or another way of looking at it is now Im buying more!)
Nov 21, 2006 at 6:24 am #1367832by the time SAC refreshes in most RSS readers the best sized wool products typically dissappear… I’m afraid that’s likely to be too slow even if it emails direct to my phone…
However, I’ve been thinking through SAC’s own Instant Message service and am wondering about some IM ‘watching’ services you can load on your computer to scan for particular messages and SMS your phone…
