If you sign up for "Deal Flyer" on their website, they will flood your e-mail with coupons, pretty much every day. but is worth it. They had a 35% off and free shipping last week.
It seems like the codes they send are specific to certain items. Sign up for the Deal Flyer though – the 35%/Free Shipping they had last week was eligible for one item on their entire site if I remember.
Wait till next week. They had a 35% off coupon that expired yesterday that was good for most items. Today's coupon that I got for 35% off was only good on 13,000 of their items apparently (and none of the tents that the previous coupon worked on).
Do sign up for the coupons though. They usually issue a couple of good ones (and some crappy ones as well) every week.
You should also friend them on Facebook. Note that it is a science to figure out the very best deal. I bought something, and a few days later, there was a coupon that would have saved me even more money.
You should also google "Sierra Trading Post Coupons" and you will find websites devoted to their discount codes.
