I have two stoves, my trusty MSR XGK for 20+ years and the F1 PowerBoost.
I got the PowerBoost as I wanted a lighter stove for conditions when I did not need all the XGK’s fire power.
Boy, have I been happy with the PowerBoost. It rated at 23,900 BTU. The only cannister stove even close is its little brother, the F1 Ultralightat 16,000 BTUs.
The boiling time in the field have been good, but not timed. In a kitchen environment I boiled 1 qt. of H2O in a two quart MSR stainless stain pot (covered) in 3 1/2 minutes. Cartridge is about half full.
When the PowerBoost is wide open, which I don’t normally have to do, it roars like my MSR XGK.
The 2.75″ diameter head disperses heat over a wide area to minimize hot spots on a pot. The pot support are well serrated and very grippy on utinsels.
The piezo has worked well and it comes with a nice little storage sack.
I got this stove four years ago and it has been good to me. All in all, a great find.
