Feb 19, 2011 at 11:06 am #1698764Which mountain is this? I can't remember-
Feb 19, 2011 at 11:35 am #1698769I believe it is Center Peak looking from the JMT heading South before you drop into Vidette Meadows. I have almost the same picture from a few years back, great view!

Mysterious basinFeb 20, 2011 at 12:55 pm #1699170You have me stumped on this one Jay! Have you gone over Bishop Pass before? It has the look of looking north from Bishop Pass towards the small lakes above Long Lake, but you have me on this one. This would be kind of a cool thread, "guess the photo" !
Edit – I went back and looked at some of my photos, it is looking north just below Bishop Pass. Not sure of the name of the basin though. This is kinda fun!
Feb 20, 2011 at 2:50 pm #1699213That mountain looks more like East Vidette Peak. I think the one to the left and behind is Center Peak.

Feb 20, 2011 at 3:16 pm #1699229The picture was likely taken on the climb up to Kearsarge or down from Charlotte. Here's a winter view.
Feb 20, 2011 at 3:24 pm #1699231While we are on that scene… has anybody been over Harrison Pass?
I think it is a bit to the right of those photos. It is north of Lake South America, and west of the JMT. I was thinking of heading there this summer. I may have to dig out the Secor book to figure out what I am getting into.

Feb 20, 2011 at 5:07 pm #1699278Well excussssse me, I guess you showed me Bob. Hopefully Jay can forgive my error ;)
Feb 20, 2011 at 8:43 pm #1699351Robert you were right! I went back and looked at some pictures and we started from Bishop Pass or actually South Lake. We did a loop to the Lamarck Col finishing at North Lake.
