Stoic seems to be a backcountry.com-exclusive brand that often appears at discounted prices at steep and cheap etc.

does anyone have any feedback about this brand?

I found a Stoic down jacket for about $50..
    … seems pretty good:

    750 fill down.
    15 D tafetta
    9 oz..

I could cancel the order before it ships.. and am in half a mind to do it and save up the money for some other jacket someday..

    PS: this one –

I see a lot of the Stoic brand gear on geartrade. When I see a lot of one type of item on gear trade, it tells me that Backcountry had a lot of returns on this type of item / brand for some reason…

I'd assume that customers wouldn't have returned it for no reason at all, although I've purchased items from there, received them and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it in the first place.

I have absolutely no experience with Stoic Brand equipment, so the above is simply nothing more than speculation on my part.

%50 is super cheap for a down jacket! the question is, is it "packable" though? There are a lot of light weight jacket out there that do not compress well at all…

stoic is the spin-off of backcountry.com brand products. So it has the bc.com lifetime warranty (or should) — its the REI warranty plus return shipping (or not, if a really bad failure, they will comp it)

I have heard specifically that the material on the luft shows the feathers through it and the cream color for instance looks quite dirty because of this.

It is not the lighest, the highest quality, the most durable, or the most of any category but I think their products on the whole rate at a high level of performance/quality and because they are not a westcomb or arctyrx label, the prices (especially when on sale) accurately reflect a medium to high quality product for a bargain, relative to the official brands.

    my 2cents..

It is their brand. They offer good discounts on that stuff and the sweater is nice(bought one for a family member).

All in all I'd say buy it becasue BC has a great return policy.
