Just bought some seconds sil-nylon from thru-hiker for a planned bivy project. Any thoughts on whether the “seconds” nature of it could affect performance? Ray-way website suggested it might, wonder what other folks think. Thanks!
i’ve used a little over 25 yards of 2nds in various projects (tent, tarp, stuff sacks, ponchos) and it’s all worked just fine. i’ll buy 2nds again for my next project.
Hi, firsts sil-nylon is a lot more expensive, I have bought over 260 yards of seconds sil-nylon and made UPTTS (Ultralite Poncho/Tarp/Tent-Systems) out of them. Bad spots are clearly visible and can be eliminated, but they are very seldom.
