made these dry bags to try out this material. These are bikepacking front fork bags, one to fit my tri tri 1.3L titanium pot cooking kit and the other would fit a type size Nalgene bottle.  https://backpackinglight.com/wp-content/uploads/hm_bbpui/3700268/wrxbmgnscst1gv831i88wbaemgt05mg0.jpeg

    – Here’s what ripstop said about it: “Unlikealmost all the market options to date, 3.9 oz Venom™ is made from fully woven, 100% UHMWPE yarn. compared to similar weight nylon/polyester or even some technical fabrics like X-PAC and Dyneema Composite, it has: Extremely high tear and tensile strength, Maximalcut, abrasion, and wear resistance”

thought I’d share my own experience with it. I’m a newbie at seeing only done a few years of this stuff so ignore my terrible techniques. First time working with it and really wasn’t bad. Flattens out really nicely during seam sewing. Holds folds long enough to work with…  but also doesn’t have an annoying amount of memory. Got to say it’s very sturdy feeling for the weight. It’s very easy to work and gather with other materials (the bottoms are dyneema gridstop) compared to laminated dyneema composites imo.

I could see this making a backpack, or used in glove palms, would also work for UL gaiters I think well.

They look great! good job. I’ve been wanting to find a material to make a custom food bag that’s like my Lukes UL. Haven’t used that one in awhile, it’s too small. Good for 1-3 days tops. What type of thread did you use? Was a different needle needed as well?

After putting the material through some paces it’s doing well. Not as stiff as CF. Slides better against other materials.

I used the rsbtr mara 70 for pretty much everything I do at this stage and the needle that came with my singer heavy duty machine.

I think this material would hold up well as a good bag (but black is harder to see stuff inside) and better as a rock sack for your bear hang toss too.

I don’t mind it being black. I always use a large OpSak and pull all my food out at once. I can also put some Lawson reflective line on it to find it in the dark. Shines back at you like a headlight.
