Broke my foot treadmill training with a 60 pound weight vest at incline about a year ago. Healing has been sporadic. I've always been a fast drying sneaker guy, 5.10 savants are my hiking and scampering, and all around preference, five fingers for just jaunting about. Ever since, "healing", serious foot pain, though cope-able, is standard. I'd like to go back to my weight-vest training, and I'm looking for the lightest serious shank, ultra-to-very stiff, preferably shoe, or boot out, as I think that's safest, and light is right. Is the Garmont Veta-lite my best option? All opinions very appreciated, thanks alot.

Try Danner 453 mid-weight GTX boots.
Cabela's has 'em in many sizes and widths.
