Killer videos. I don't climb, although in my head I have these feeble aspirations to some day learn to! I've seen the Dean Potter clips many times and the speed session free solo up Yosemite is probably the coolest attack on a wall I've ever seen. I love how he runs up to the base of El Cap and just starts attacking any way he can. He is a master. Dean's basesolo up Eiger was shown in The North Face video The Sharp End and gave me the goosebumps, especially when he gets in a bind and bails.
As far as Ammon Mcneely…he's insane with some sort of death wish it seems.
Jan 8, 2010 at 7:46 am #1560762Here is a cool old school one from the 70's… I posted it in an earlier thread but figured I would add it to this one.

I wonder if the Henry Barber solo of "Dream of White Horses" from The American Sportsman is online anywhere?

Some people on youtube commented as to how pure and simple the vid is… but it definately gets its point across
Eugene- You should, It lacks appropriate adjectives to fully describe the experience. Dean Potter's "attacking" is basiclly the way I try to approach all climbing but in truth slow and steady is true mastery.
