Currently I am using a OR WindPro Balaclava and it is great for glasses wearers in that it doesn't smash the glasses again your face but the opening seems a little too loose on me and I was wondering if anyone has come across anything else. Thanks.

I just got an OR Option Balaclava. I recently used it for 2 days straight. I wore the face opening down under my chin most of the time. The face hole was snug but not tight. As long as I kept my mouth mostly closed, it did not mash my glasses. Chewing and swallowing caused it to mash my glasses on the nose pads a little. It was slightly uncomfortable.

I am thinking of using a hot poker to melt two holes in it near the temples, so I can wear my glasses on the outside.

I think it weighs 50 g; very sorry I don't have an exact weight now.

Hi All: Here N. of 60 we wear balaclavas roughly every month of the year—even in July in the mornings when it can be +5C!

Wearing glasses over your balaclava works way better—neck cord on the temple to prevent loss. The Mag-1 glasses which are little more than a pince-nez lens holder with a band of elastic around the back of your head, are nearly indestructable in this role, as they fold flat when worn around your neck. Squash glasses are similar…

Today I wore 3 balaclavas biking at -22C, same with quilted hat for walking…

Worn around your neck under your clothing they tend to be quicker to dry out and warm up than on top of your head!
