Apologies if you're not in Grand Canyon Council (maybe you could do this in your council?)
2010 Philmont Scholarships for Scouts (Grand Canyon Council)
The Grand Canyon Council is in the unique position to sponsor a crew of 10 Scouts, who otherwise would not be able to afford the Philmont experience. The slots are available to Scouts from across the Council. Scouts who are accepted on the crew will be required to participate in fundraisers before the trek to raise money for additional aspects of the trip.
Crew members must be at least 14 years old on Jan. 1, 2010, and no more than 20 years old on July 4, 2010 the start of the trek, which lasts 12 days. If you know a Scout who has done well in Scouting or Venturing, has shown leadership, teamwork, consistent Scouting values and would like to go, but is financially constrained, please nominate the Scout by sending the following information:
Scout’s name, phone number and e-mail address:
Rank and awards:
Troop/Crew city and number:
District:
Your name, phone number and e-mail address:
Your relationship with the Scout: (parent, Scoutmaster, etc.)
A sentence on why you believe the Scout would be a good candidate, and that there is a financial impediment.
Please email your nomination to [email protected]
Selection of crew members will follow this fall. Questions should be directed to [email protected]
