What's the best fuel to use for the trangia alcohol stove? I tried the 92% ISO Alcohol and it created way too much soot. So does anyone have anthing better use that doesn't create so much soot? Well thanks for any and all help.

I just use cheap denatured alcohol from Home Depot (paint department). Never had a soot problem… weird!

You can't use Isopropyl Alcohol, you need to use Denatured Alcohol or Heet (gas line antifreeze)

I will try the denatured alcohol and see how that works is there any particular brand better than another? I'm just trying to eliminate the soot the ISO alcohol was giving off. Thanks

Any brand is fine. Home depot and other hardware stores have it in gallon cans. Heet comes from auto parts stores or gas stations.
