From Coleman:
===============================
UNIQUE TWO-BURNER LIQUID FUEL BACKPACK STOVE UNVEILED Coleman Introduces New Exponent Dual Fuel Models Backpackers who prefer liquid fuel stoves have two new options from Coleman, including the first two-burner liquid fuel stove that runs on a single fuel bottle. Both stoves are Exponent® Dual FuelTM models, capable of operating on either Coleman® Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline.The landmark new GeminiTM two-burner stove features lightweight but durable material in the mainframe. Four stainless steel legs – two at each end – swing out to provide a stable cooking platform, but fold in for more compact stowage in backpacks, dry bags, panniers or saddlebags. It is designed for adventurers who want two cooking surfaces for preparing multi-dish meals simultaneously but prefer one stove powered by one fuel bottle, which can provide weight and space savings on the trail.
Each burner is rated at 9,000 Btu, can be independently controlled and has fully adjustable flame control, which would allow simmering on one burner while boiling or frying on the other. Boil time is less than four minutes for a quart of water.*
The two-burner stove operates off a single fuel bottle, which has a 22-ounce liquid fuel capacity but is filled with 16 ounces of fuel to allow air space in the bottle for pressurization. It feeds both burners and is pressurized with a thumb pump, which features an improved design requiring 30 percent less pumping than any of Coleman’s previous liquid fuel stoves. Weight of the stove and pump assembly is 33.1 ounces. The total dry weight, including the fuel bottle, is 37.2 ounces. Run time is one hour with both burners on the highest setting.
The new two-burner stove will be available at retail stores in spring of ’06, and the suggested retail price is $140.
A New One-Burner, TooA companion single-burner Exponent Dual Fuel backpacking stove with matching style and design also is being introduced by Coleman for the coming season. The new ApolloTM stove is the lightest and most powerful liquid fuel stove in the Exponent line – with the exception of the new FyrestormTM multi-fuel stove.
The burner is 9,000 Btu and is fully adjustable. Boil time for the stove is less than four minutes.* Weight of the stove and pump assembly is 15.9 ounces. Dry weight of the stove, pump and fuel bottle is 20 ounces. Run time for the single burner is two hours on high. The suggested retail price for the new one-burner stove is $80.
It features three stainless steel legs, which swing out to provide a stable cooking platform. The legs also serve as pot supports with serrated top surfaces to reduce pot slippage. The legs can be folded from their tripodal position to a more compact package for stowage.
(* Standard testing conditions to determine boil time include a covered pot of water, approximately 60-degree ambient temperature, and test conducted at low altitude. Tested time to bring a quart of water to the boiling point under these conditions is 3.75 minutes.)
