In the great land of Oz (Australia)
I have one set up in my backyard and will sleep in it in about half an hour.
Since it has created a lot of interest on the various forums, I can tell you that it is just magnificent. Very roomy, two people under six foot can play cards in it facing each other, with some sagging a 6’8″ person can sleep in the middle without touching the walls, not as wide but longer than a Hubba Hubba.
On my scales, correct within 10gm,it weights 940 gm (2 Lb and 1 0z) including everything, not plus, plus.( fly, six Easton pegs, two stuff sacs)
Packed is about the size of two 1 L Nalgene end to end.
I have just lost another 700 gm (24oz) from my Lighthouse !!!
The next weight loss will come from my mid section.

Jan 11, 2006 at 1:42 am #1348313This is my first attempt at posting pictures so I have no idea if it is going to work. Please keep in mind that I changed the set up from pegged down to freestanding in about 3 min ( first time) and took a few quick close ups ( for another fourum request) before dinner. If this works out feel free to ask for any other picture.

Note from the “back picture” that I slept out in the rain before seam sealing the tent and I did get a few drops in but nothing to upset my WM Highlite, I could not see any difference in the shape of the Rainbow after a full night of rain, but only about a 5 c drop in temperature.Jan 11, 2006 at 7:06 am #1348323Jan 11, 2006 at 7:21 am #1348325Franco,
you post pictures like this, except without the exclaimation points
<!img src=”your website”!> <!/img!>
nice pics, but you might think about changing the size, first of all it will eat up your bandwith, and second, we cant see the whole picture
Jan 11, 2006 at 1:27 pm #1348367Thanks Ryan, I did compress them from about 2mb to 200k, however I did not reduce the size, they are easy to see in Photobucket but obviously not here. At work I have others doing this for me so at home I am a bit handicapped.
BTW the camera was a Pentax WPiJan 11, 2006 at 2:43 pm #1348375Just go here:
PhotoBucket TarpTent Rainbow Gallery
And you should probably trim that post with all the full-size photos.
Jan 11, 2006 at 3:53 pm #1348381I can’t wait for my Rainbow to arrive on Monday. However, as a fellow antipodean isn’t it summer in Australia? If so, why is it raining : ) ?
I hope to use my rainbow ASAP.
Jan 12, 2006 at 12:00 pm #1348431Hi Roger
This was the first rainy night for a long time, I was rather hoping for some stronger winds as well….
I will post some more pictures, tonight or Saturday of the vestibule, this proved to be quiet a surprise.
FrancoJan 13, 2006 at 2:12 am #1348468More vestibule pictures, reduced size this time………
