BD Spot

i’m vascillating between a 3 and a 4 rating for this headlamp. a 3.5 maybe??? i guess a 4 if batt life is NOT important to you; a 3 or 3.5 if it is.

rather than repeat info here that was first “posted” in the Forums, here is a link to a Forum Thread (you might want to scroll to the Start/Top of the Thread and start reading there – you’ll eventually get to what are the last two Posts in the Thread, at the time of this writing, which deal with the BD Spot). the Thread deals with more than just the BD Spot (the PT Eos and Petzl TikkaXP are also mentioned).

This Spot was my first headlamp, and is still being used by my GF. It has a range of around 200 feet when scanning for animal eyes. lol. The option to dim in beam and flood mode is a nice battery saving feature. Also has a lock option so you aren't kicking it on inside of your pack. It takes 3 AAA batteries which handled many long night hikes and week long trips. I now have a Storm which is brighter and waterproof, but unless it's raining, there's really not much of a difference besides a few lumen.
