I’m going back to Aconcagua (to really summit this time)
I’m considering the Solomente or the Mountain Hardwear EV2 tent
Any insight on these 2 beauties?
Thanks
Hi John,
try this link. Some interesting pics and perspective:

With respect to the EV2, I have a friend that owns a company in London, England, that takes avid adventurers on climbing and trekking excursions to places like Nepal, Pakistan, etc. He has the fortunate history of summitting Everest in 2002 so I do take some of what he says at face value. His opinion of the EV2 is that it is, quite possibly, the best 2 person expedition tent currently sold. Yes, he owns one and it has followed him up to base camp several times since. Pretty good endorsement in my (limited) opinion.
No experience, but the Marmot Alpinist 2P looks good too. There, a trio of lightweight winter tents:
Would be curious to hear any actual experience with these three tents.
Thanks, David—very useful information–just what I wanted.

Thanks, Benjamin—I’ll check it out too.

No problem John. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
By the way, keep us informed of which tent you choose.
I finally decided on the EV2 tent—it should arrive next week, but I won’t be actually using it until Dec/Jan on an upcoming Aconcagua climb.
Thanks again for your advise

Great choice. Long wait to use it though….
