Baffin construction

I got a pair of Baffin Hammer boots. The bottom section of the boot is solid rubber. The top is leather. The seam were they join is unbelievably rough. It’s going to cause serious problems on the back of my heal. All the Baffin boots I’ve seen seem to be built the same way. Anyone else have experience with this? I’m thinking of getting the Engo patches to cover it up. Anyone use those?
