Get Out & Enjoy The Winter Weather!
Ever Wondered How Folks Do Hammock Camping In The Winter…..or just want to practice your cold weather backpacking/ tenting/camping and enjoy meeting some new outdoors enthusiasts…..This May Be Your Opportunity!
WHERE: Mt Rogers, in Southwest VA (http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/gra.shtml) /Wise Shelter on the Appalachian Trail***.
WHEN: Jan. 23, 24, & 25, 2009 (Next Weekend)
WHO: This, the third annual Winter Hang, family-friendly event (not drunk fest) is being sponsored by Hammock Forums (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6020&highlight=rogers+hang), & All Hangers, Backpackers, and/or Tenters are Welcome!
DETAILS: As of today, Friday January 16, 2009, there are +45 male and female participants (so far, the vast majority are hammock campers) currently signed up to attend. Most folks will be arriving on Friday January 23rd and leaving on January 25th.
While each participant will be responsible for his or her own meals, the Saturday night meal will be a group affair whereby “covered dishes, appetizers, deserts, or beverages” brought by each participant will be shared by all attendees.
If you are pretty sure that you will be attending, please let me know via e-mail: how many of you will be attending; and what your shared meal offering will be.
***The walk from the parking lot to the Wise Shelter takes approximately 45 minutes.
