I am looking for a bivy similar to the BMW Side Zip Vapr Bivy but with a microporous polyproplene top rather than Pertex Quantum. It seems that such a bivy would be just as breathable as the BMW but fully waterproof. Although the fabric is somewhat fragile I don’t think durability will be an issue unless someone is a really agressive sleeper (tossing, turning, thrashing, etc).

Thanks in advance for any information. By the way, I already know about the Jacks R Better sleeping bag covers.

I don’t know of such a bivy. I have been interested in finding a source for this material. It may be possible to make such a bivy and it does sound like an interesting idea to me.

jacksrbetter uses microporus polypropylene for thier weather shield. they sell the top for only 25$ so that might be a source for the fabric, or the completed bivy right there. You’ve got me thinking now to… hmmm
