I think I figured out a solution for my problem. I've been strapping my z-lite on the outside of my Vapor Trail. That's not an option on the Jam2. I cut off 4 panels and I'm going to use it as extra back padding. I will probably end up cutting off 2 more panels. If I had to do it again, I would have gone ahead and cut off 6 panels. That way I would have one 6 and one 8 panels long to meet different needs. Anyway, I hope this helps out others in the future.
p.s. I also removed the pad from the Jam2 and it's a lot more comfortable.
