Posting book

I was reading posts and found the author (sarbar) of a new trail food book letting folks know it is available, etc. I have also seen her at other backpacking sites doing the same thing.
Is it OK for me to let folks know about my new book, Travel Light-Eat Heavy Along the Appalachian Trail and Other Mystical Routes? If so, do I just log in and tell folks about it or do I need to do something else first?
