I have just finished my trip report on our recent Lost Coast Trail hike. I also uploaded some pictures from this trip.
The report can be found on my website at the following address:

We had an absolute blast and enjoyed every second of it.

Oct 30, 2008 at 1:45 pm #1456904I liked your report. I did this trip, this year, in the spring and had an awesome time also. I loved Spanish flats.
Glad you had a good time.Josh
Nov 3, 2008 at 7:48 am #1457401Jim – read your trip report. Looks like a good time. I kept reading this and that about your leg problems. I clicked through to your homepage, and I am truly inspired by what you have gone through and what you are trying to do.
Congratulations on the accomplishment. I wish you all the best.

Many thanks for your kind comments, I really appreciate it.
So many people find it hard to see any kind of future after a stroke or other brain injuries. I saw that first hand last year when I was in a specialist brain injury hospital in Galveston, Texas.
I dedicate my fight to all these people, and hope to show them that there is hope if we believe and fight hard enough.
I am very fortunate that I have a great medical team behind me, and the doctor who saved my life is my biggest supporter (besides my wife and family) of my hiking goals.
Anyway, thanks for reading my report, and as I said, I truly appreciate the kind words of encouragement that you wrote

Nov 3, 2008 at 10:20 am #1457420Jim,
Thank you for sharing your trip with all of us.
Perfect blend of photos and great story telling.
I live in the Bay Area, so that is a trip that I have to put on my list of things to do.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Nov 3, 2008 at 12:42 pm #1457431Jim – great trip report on one of my favorite hikes, and more importantly, an inspiring story.
Thank you so much, and best wishes on continued recovery and many hikes to come.

Good luck on your recovery!
Mar 8, 2009 at 10:54 pm #1483909Great trip photos! I hiked the Lost Coast Trail the month before you (mid-September, 2008) and slept in that little shelter you stayed at your first night with the buoys strung up on the line with faces painted on them.
Seeing your photos reminded me of how great of a trip it was. Very different than any other backpacking trips I've done.
Mar 9, 2009 at 8:29 pm #1484203In 2008 I did that trip in the first week of June. I'll be doing it again this June. It's always (except when it rains hard the whole way) a great hike.
