After searching around on the internet I’m guessing the answer is ‘no,’ but… does anyone know of a company that makes a synthetic insulated vest with a hood? I’m thinking something like Nunatak’s Skaha Plus vest, but in 3D or Delta or other worthy synthetic. It seems like the ideal warmth/weight combo. Can anyone help me out? If not, I might have to break out the sewing machine…

I dont beleive I have ever seen anything like this before. the Nunatak’s Skaha Plus is uniuqe. You may be able to email Nunatak and ask for a custom “Skaha” with synthetic fill, or your other option is to buy a synthetic jacket and cut off the sleeves.
Good ideas, I’d just have to think of something to do with the sleeves afterward. Maybe some 1980s Flashdance-style legwarmers? :) I’d also thought of making a hooded insulated vest, and then adding uninsulated sleeves [just a .8oz nylon or similar]. I’ll have to think on it some more.
