A few shots from an eight-day trip my brother and I made to the High Pyrenees region this summer.

Oct 19, 2008 at 4:19 am #1455098Lovely pictures! You had some great camping locations.
Did you carry 8 days' worth of food or did you have re-supply stops? And a geeky question – what is your tent? I don't recognise it!
Oct 19, 2008 at 4:30 am #1455099We carried a few days of food a couple of times but it is easyish to hit villages and/or refugios to resupply.
The tent is a Hex 3, with a nest on this occasion….
Oct 19, 2008 at 4:40 am #1455100Slack Sunday's are great!
Is the hex still made? – it looks good.
Oct 19, 2008 at 4:47 am #1455101Yes it is still made but re-badged as the Shangri-La…
Oct 19, 2008 at 4:55 am #1455102Thanks, I'll have a look – not that I need another tent – but since when has that stopped me….!
Nov 20, 2008 at 5:23 pm #1459912how much money was it to resupply for a 5-6 day trip in one of the refugios/trail towns? and is there wilderness camping once you get away from the huts? i am used to the sierras and am trying to grasp what it is like in parts of europe.

If you think about the same prices as the US and add about 20% that would be about right. You would be buying from a supermarket in small towns so be aware that dehydrated food is probably not going to be available. Refugios are MUCH more expensive to buy from and have quite limited food stocks.
You can camp with discretion overnight in a lot of places; in some it is illegal but I have never had any issues.
