I have a strong background in custom bicycle manufacturing,not quite the cottage industry that our lightweight equipment suppliers have.
Every year at the annual Interbike show there is a group of awards by SOPWAMTOS[society of people who make their own “stuff”],various awards are given recognizing homegrown innovation plus golden toilet seats for best us company made in taiwan [or wherever],same stuff,different shovel,just because,best backyard sweatshop,etc.This might dovetail with the lightitude,at least it isn’t rodale press hawking honda motorcycles,in bicycling,and viagra in backpacker.
