Finally a real sale. Mammoth Mountaineering has their Memorial Day Sale with 20% off everything, including Western Mountaineering bags which are almost always excluded whenever anyplace has a sale.

20% off WM is golden…….the catch is, they only have five models available, and not all lengths and zip options are available within the limited inventory. Still, these are great deals if you want one of these models.

    32° Summerlite (left zip only)
25° Alder SMF (left zip only)
20° Alpinlite (left and right zip available)
20° Ultralite (left and right zip available)
    10° Versalite (right zip only)

    go to mammothgear.com
    click "Shop Online" link
type "Western" in the quick search

that will bring up the WM products

I ordered a bag from them a few weeks ago. No problems.

Some of the W.M. products — like the Summerlite — are not tagged under "western". You have to type in the model name specifically. So if "western" doesn't turn up the model you want, try typing in the name by itself instead. Bad website/data management.

Thanks for sharing! I have a Marmot bag on order but it hasn't shipped yet, so I might cancel and cough up for one of these.

A question for those of you who already own WM bags. I'm just under 6'1"… do you reckon I would be ok in a 6' bag? I'm not keen on having an extra 5 inches of space at the foot of the bag that I don't need.

It depends on how you sleep. Im about 6 feet tall and full stretched out I definitely did not have a whole lot of room lengthwise in the bag. The bag ended up working fine because I slept in more of a curled position. I doubt it would be long enough for someone who sleeps flat, however.

Glad I could help, it really is a great deal so I just had to pick one up myself. I grabed an Ultralite.

How bout that. They want $355 for a long WM Alder (WM's site says MSRP is $335) and I can't seem to get the transaction to process.

Ordered an Ultralite Long at 11:30 a.m., UPS shipping confirmation came at 2:30 p.m. and on top of the 20% off, they provide free ground shipping. If you use UPS ground, it is essentially overnight to Southern California from Mammoth Lakes. What a deal!

Well it looks like the Western Mountaineering bags weren't supposed to be part of the 20% off sale, so now they've caught on and they are back to full price. For those of you who ordered online using the sale price, they are shipping and honoring the sale price. For those of you who were contemplating, well as the saying goes… you snooze, you lose. Congrats to those of you who got your orders in, I doubt you'll see another deal like this for a long time to come.
