I am a classic medium and want to get one of these babies but was wondering whether the cut is tight on this product?
I am 5’10”, 164 pounds, about 39″ chest. A Marmot precip in medium is spot on for me if that helps.
Any help is much appreciated as I live in Australia and can’t try it on from here!
Oct 6, 2005 at 8:52 pm #1342519I’m 6’2″,180, 42″ chest— the large fits me quite well, I consider it semi- fitted. There is room for layering a midweight merino baselayer underneath.
The medium should work fine for you depending on your layering expectations. I find that Patagonia’s sizing chart to be very spot on.If you don’t already know, Patagonia is having a big web sale, including the Pullover ($80-ish).
Cheers.Oct 6, 2005 at 9:48 pm #1342523I am 5’10”, 145 lbs with 39″ chest and the medium MicroPuff is just right for me. The fit is quite similar to Marmot Precip medium (I just checked).
Oct 7, 2005 at 6:20 am #13425365’8, 165 40″ chest. I have a medium. Its a little tight going on over my shoulders but once I contort my way in it its very comfy and fits perfect. Will fit nicely over 2 lightweight long sleeve crews (tried it this morning in my jeep…too lazy to put doors back on)
Oct 8, 2005 at 1:14 am #1342569AnonymousGuestI own both the Micro Puff pullover and vest (04/05 models) in Medium. I’m 165, 5’10”, and 38 chest. Both are sized right for me, although the Pullover is more snug around my torso.

Oct 9, 2005 at 8:09 pm #1342630At 5’10” and 220# patagonia’s large fits fine, I actually just walked in wearing the pullover from outside, good luck, the medium should be a good fit.
Oct 10, 2005 at 9:05 pm #1342678i only have the vest, and find it to be about right in girth. i’ve only tried layering it over med-weight capeline so far–have yet to really experiment with wind shirts and other layers.
Oct 14, 2005 at 8:57 pm #1342941My experiences are just the opposite of the poster above. I have the pullover and vest in size L, and found the pullover to fit perfectly, and the vest too tight. I called Patagonia and a service person checked the specs and found that in size L the vest is smaller through the chest as well as shorter, despite the fact that both are listed as “regular” fit. However, pati customer service went the extra mile and, due to the fact that the description was misleading, sent me an XL vest.in exchange, and paid shipping both ways. GREAT service as far as I am concerned.
