I am sure lots of us have used Frogg Toggs. You type frogg togg into the bpl search and you will find them discussed in a number of articles.

Frogg Toggs were one of the first rain suits that used microporous polypropylene material. My experience in the field is that they are about as breathable as Gore-Tex XCR and are quite light. Compared to Gore-Tex they are cheap. Against them, they aren’t as durable as more traditional rainwear and their cut sucks (baggy, ill-fitting, sucky hood), and venting options are limited (no pitzips or torso vents).

I switched to a rainshield o2 jacket because it is lighter and more breathable. If I was buying something new it would be the BPL propore rain suit since a complete rainsuit is almost 1/2 the price of my jacket. Off trail I don’t use frogg togg pants. On trail I still use my frogg togg pants because I found the rainshield pants were too fragile for me.

    Jcain6,

My set of the Frogg Toggs includes a pull-over jacket with an attached hood, and a center chest pouch pocket with storm flap. The pants have an elastic waistband with drawstring, pass-through pockets and 8-inch zippers with elastic cuffs that make it quick and easy to put on/take off while wearing shoes. The sizes run a little big so you if you wear an X-Large go with a Large.

I’ve worn the Frogg Toggs through several major storms and personally speaking I liked the way they fit, the material isn’t clammy or sticky like some manufactures and I feel they breath far better then Gor-Tex. As far as durability its like most things these days and depends on who’s wearing them, mine are over a year old now and look brand new.

The best prices on Frogg Toggs check E-bay.
You should be able to pick up a new pair for around $30-$50 with no problem.

    Regards,
    FastWalker

The BPL rainsuit seems like a great lightweight, cheap alternative. It’s only offered in M/L and L/XL. Any chances of getting a S/M or even a XS in stock? (I’m a short female.)

These are not very durable at all. I also agree with previous post that they are baggy and not very breathable. I bought a pair and the zipper failed within a few weeks. I didn't get around to calling their customer service line about it for about a year, and they wouldn't help me. Their warranty is one year, and they won't fix things beyond that. Certainly within their rights, but not good customer service.

I have a set of the original "pro action" style that Ive had for ~10 yrs. Granted it spent most of its time asleep in a 1-gal ziplock in the center console on my boat, but still in excellent shape. Even been thru the washing machine once, got a little hole in the pants near the waist where it got wrapped around/under the spindle though.

My XL weighs about 16 oz.

No, its not as durable as a real rainsuit. But it is much much more durable than dri ducks. Fits good, looks good like a bomber-style jacket should. You could wear it around town as a windbreaker and no one would look at you funny. I can wear a nanopuff underneath it perfect. I think mine runs a lot smaller than the newer ones though.
