There have been several people doing the AT this year (Sgt Rock & I can't remember other names) that have reported their LMF Spork snaps in cold (>=20F) when it was being treated gently.
I had one break on me in the middle where the name is stamped into the plastic. It was May in the Colorado Rockies so it wasn't that cold. I figured it was just defective and bought another one that is still in one piece.
Jonathan thanks for the heads up on price. I fell victim of a LMF snappage of my spork, it was a sad/messy day. I ate the rest like a caveman..lol. It was cold that eve
