I figured this would be a good thread since the “fav gear of ’04” was so popular.

What piece of gear are you most looking forward to in ’05?

I’m looking forward to getting a Gossamer Gear Mariposa pack and a Cocoon balaclava.

Well, Santa brought me a new Six Moons Starlite pack this year (I have the most wonderful spouse!), so my pack needs are covered for a while <g>.

I would like a new Western Mountaineering Caribou sleeping bag — 21 ounces, microfiber shell, rated to 35 F, and wide cut for big people. In the Southeast US, it’ll be my primary bag from April well into October.

I’d love a new ultralight Pertex bag cover, but I may just end up sewing one myself to save some cash.

    Nice thread, thanks.

I see that Western Mountaineering is planning to release a new 3.5 ounce (!!!) down vest this spring. Sounds pretty enticing.
