Locale: Williamsport, PA and Ottsville, PA

I'm looking to make a new jacket for my son for the remainder of this winter, and would prefer a polartec product, vs a shell with the polartec liner. But I'm getting stuck on the names, vs properties. Seems so confusing to me. I want a water resistant or water proof, wind blocking and pretty good insulation value, he's 5 so he doesn't exactly tell you when he's warm, just when he's overly hot. I'm building in pit zips, enough reinforced pockets for cars, rocks, etc, and I'm going to add reflectix strips. Toying around with a hood of some kind, in a zipper behind the head. So far, all these seem about the same. Powershield(regular, Pro, & FR flavors) NeoShell WindPro WindBLOC Can someone point me in the right direction, or give me a better understanding of the differences of each fabric?

I would advise powerstretch. The powerstretch with hardface or powerstretch pro. Both make the fabric more hardwearing. It is a mainstay in the cold weather running world. More windproof than regular fleece due to the smooth exterior with a fairly good insulation value.
