can a mylar bivy (the cheap $3 ones)be used as a vapor barrier . my understanding is that a vapor barrier contain you sweat so your down dosn't get wet. am i correct or not. can't see sending $100 or so on some thing i'll use a few times a year
Yep. Just like any plastic. Mylar is really noisy. One mil (or thinner) polyethylene drop cloth is not. Mylar is aluminized to reflect radiant heat. This makes very little difference in the real world.
