I'm planning a solo NOBO hike across the SI portion of the Te Araroa (~800mi) starting in mid December. I expect to take 60-70 days. I'm pretty content with my pack's current amenities/weight balance, but would definitely be open to cheap/easy upgrades. http://lighterpack.com/r/1d93si

Looks like a good packlist, should serve you well on the Te Araroa. All I can offer is enjoy your tramp.

I'd take a spare fire starter in case the lighter fails/gets lost.

Hi Virginia your list looks good overall. It can and does usually snow at some point during the summer in the SI mountains. Can also be blazing hot with little shade. I would suggest adding tp and packing it out. There's one plant in particular, our native nettle that is pretty harsh. Aside from environmental care as well. Also are you carrying a hat and/or gloves and anything for wind burn? Good luck with everything and I hope you enjoy your hike!

If you have a smaller pot, something like 0.9L would probably be big enough. A good alternative to Body Glide that you can pick up in NZ is GurneyGoo. It's worth taking a small container with you and sending the rest in the bounce box. https://www.gurneygears.com/gurneygoo You could probably get away with something lighter than the Petzl Tikka (e.g. Petzl e+LITE). Daylight lasts a long time in Dec-Jan so you'll only be hiking in the dark if you really want to. Have a great hike!
