    Hi,

For tedious reasons I won't go into, my doctor put me on the Paleo Diet, and, well, it's changed my life. After a year, I'm lighter, fitter etc. Singing its praises is not why I'm here…

Have any of you prepared Paleo recipes, using a home dehydrator, before? If so, would you mind sharing them? On my last week out, I had the same dehydrated (but highly nutritious) stew every night and it got kinda old after the third or forth day. I'd just love to know if there's anyone else out there that has to make their own food is such a fashion.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim

Dehydrating is simple, easy and you will eat better.

Think about what you like at home, copy that for the trail :-)

+1 on "… dry what you make at home."

I'm not Paleo, but we dry many "thick" dinners like chili, split pea, etc.

A visiting friend is Paleo and is taking four meals from PaleoMealsToGo.com

I'll report back in a week.

PMTG's beef stew is quite good!

PaleoMealsToGo – Chicken Stew and Beef Stew were just field tested by a friend. Kris is an excellent cook at home and discerning when it comes to good food.

She said the Chicken was "best" and the Beef "good", but that most of the difference was probably due to personal preferences. They re-hydrated very quickly, and were seasoned well, but not excessively so. Both were almost "good enough for home", and she will certainly be eating more of them on future trips.

What I liked was that they were not salt bombs. The sea salt packet is a nice touch.
