I had a really great interaction with Nick Smolinske of Rogue Panda Designs a few weeks ago in the Gear Deals forum. He's a Bikepacking bag manufacturer, and makes ultralight and custom-fit bags for the spaces in a mountain bike for those who want to, but can't backpack (me).
Well, I recently received my framebag and I am just thrilled. It's a well-made product and his communication, turnaround time, and price were all excellent. I wrote a review for it on my blog, linked below. Nick was kind enough to also post a comment himself in that post, so I encourage you to scroll to the bottom and check that out, too.
Nice to see this from a cottage manufacturer. If you've been thinking about custom work for this application, this looks like your guy.
This is the frame bag I'm going to go with when I'm ready to pull the trigger. Right now I'm leaning towards a two compartment set up where I'll keep my Platypus 3L bag in the top portion.
