Article on Indefinitely Wild about a new waterproof, breathable material coming next year from Columbia. Time will tell, but this sounds like it could be big news, as it eliminates the outer fabric layer and DWR. Lighter, more durable, and better for the environment?

I am very much looking forward to seeing how these jackets perform. I have the following questions I hope we get answers for this spring/summer:

Does it really have a permanently water beading surface?

Is it durable enough for the Alaskan brush?

Is it breathable? As much as GT? Event? NeoShell?

Are the “underarm” vents pit zips?

how does it feel against the skin?

    does it delaminate?

    can it be made lighter?

I have wondered why if this is so revolutionary (and it could be) why they didn’t sell this under the Mountain Hardwear brand?

Now somebody go buy one and put it through it’s paces.
