So I know I'm kinda late here, but I finally gave Nido a try while prepping for a trip this coming week.
Combined with Trader Joe's Coconut Cranberry Granola, I think I just found one of my favorite no cook breakfasts so far.
Nido is far richer and creamier than any powdered milk I've yet to try and it's pretty high fat.
3 ounces of TJ's Coconut Cranberry Granola
4 tablespoons Nido
~6 ounces of water
Nido can be pre-mixed with granola in ziplock.
By my maths it's about 530 calories…Tasty with a high calorie/ounce ratio.
I usually go half in half with Nido and Intek Cookie N Cream protein isolate inorder to up my protein intake due to being restricted on carbs. I suspect other protein mixes similiar in flavor to vanilla would work.
It also makes a killer iced (cool) mocha. Instant coffee, Nido and hot chocolate mix. Add a little Malto and you have quite the energy drink.
I mix Nido with as many meals as possible. I carried dry cereal and Nido on my thru hike for about half my breakfasts. Cocoa krispies and Nido, yum.
